Why Choose
Hypnotherapy?

Healing ourselves can be a tricky journey, one you may have been on a long time, or one you have recently joined. Wherever you are on your path, it can be daunting and overwhelming when searching for the best type of treatments or therapy for you. I see clients every day changing their lives with the power of Hypnotherapy and I believe it the most powerful form of therapy for creating positive change in our life.

Natural Relaxation

Hypnosis is a very natural state for the human body to be in, in fact you probably go into a hypnotic state many times a day without realising it. For example just before you drop off to sleep, or when you drive a regular journey to work or the supermarket and suddenly realise you don't remember getting there.  Perhaps you have been sat and drifted off into a day dream or become immersed fully in an activity such as watching a tv programme or making a cake...these all are all types of a hypnotic state.

So essentially a hypnotic state is a very relaxed state of being, and it is this relaxed state that allows your conscious mind to sit back and allow your sub-conscious to open up and be receptive to creating change and embracing change.

"People do not come into therapy to change their past but their future."

Milton H. Erickson

What will happen to me during hypnosis?

To start the session we will sit and discuss what has brought you to me, then you will have the opportunity to lie down on a comfortable couch and from there you will go into a very deeply relaxed state by simply listening to what I am saying to you.

Can anything go wrong in hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a very safe state for you to be in. It is a very natural state for the human body and mind to be in. Importantly, you will be in full control at all times, the therapist cannot make you do anything you do not wish to or is against your ethical and moral code.

Is Hypnotherapy the same as what I may have seen on the TV?

Many people's first experience of hypnosis is of a stage hypnotist making people do things like eating onions and acting like chickens, but this is not the case for Hypnotherapy, which is a very different modality set in a safe and tranquil environment. Whilst you are in hypnosis, you will relaxed and calm. You may feel physically heavy and very comfortable. You will be in control the whole time.  The sessions will be deeply relaxing.  An interesting fact is that 20 mins of hypnosis is said to be the equivalent of 4 hrs sleep.
